REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

  • Before the removal of air bag module, be sure to refer to GROUP 52B - Service Precautions as well as Air Bag Module and Clock Spring without a fail.
Pre-removal operation
  • Air bag module and steering wheel removal (Refer to GROUP 52B - Air Bag Module and Clock Spring .)
  • A/C compressor removal (Refer to GROUP 55 - Compressor Assembly .)
  • Removal of coupling bolt for steering gear and joint (Refer to GROUP 37 - Power Steering Gear & Linkage .)
  • Front bumper face removal (Refer to GROUP 51 - Front Bumper Assembly .)
  • Lower arm removal (Refer to .)
  • Stabilizer link removal (Refer to .)

Post-installation operation
  • Stabilizer link installation (Refer to .)
  • Lower arm installation (Refer to .)
  • Installation of coupling bolt for steering gear and joint (Refer to GROUP 37 - Power Steering Gear & Linkage .)
  • A/C compressor installation (Refer to GROUP 55 - Compressor Assembly .)
  • Front bumper installation (Refer to GROUP 51 - Front Bumper Assembly .)
  • Air bag module and steering wheel installation (Refer to GROUP 52B - Air Bag Module and Clock Spring .)
  • Confirm that the steering wheel is at the straight-ahead position.
  • Wheel alignment check and adjustment (Refer to .)

1.Use a transmission jack to support the front axle No. 1 crossmember, and then remove the mounting bolt.

caution When removing and installing the stabilizer bar, be careful not to hit it against the torque sensor for power steering.
