Code No. C202E: Brake electric vacuum pump operation monitoring (VP)




OPERATION




DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS



  • When the pump does not operate even if the number of times to be operated is exceeded, the diagnosis code No. C202E will be set.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of the brake fluid pressure sensor (Hydraulic unit (integrated with ASC-ECU))
  • Malfunction of the brake booster vacuum sensor
  • Malfunction of the EV-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. ?Check whether the diagnosis code is set.


Check if one or more of the diagnosis codes for other systems are set to the EV-ECU from No. C2020, C2021, C2022, and P1B31.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Carry out troubleshooting for diagnosis code No. C2020, C2021, C2022 and P1B31 (Refer to .)
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Diagnosis code recheck


Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the EV-ECU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the EV-ECU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Diagnosis code recheck


Operate the brake eight times or more, and then check again if the diagnosis code is set to the EV-ECU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Return to Step 1.
The diagnosis is complete.
