Inspection Procedure 8: The rear display does not change to nighttime brightness when the headlamps are illuminated.
















DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code
Check if diagnosis code is set to the combination meter.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
Troubleshoot the combination meter (Refer to ).
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code
Check if the diagnosis code is set to the ETACS-ECU.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Troubleshoot the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS - Troubleshooting ).
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Connector check: C-03 combination meter connector

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector concerned.

STEP 4. Voltage measurement at C-03 combination meter connector
(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
(3)Measure the voltage between C-07 combination meter connector terminal No.24 and the body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 6.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Wiring harness check between C-317 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No.2 and C-07 combination meter connector terminal No.24

  • Check the power supply line for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. Check the wiring harness wires between C-03 combination meter connector terminal No.23 and D-06 rear display unit connector terminal No.5.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-122, and repair if necessary.

  • Check the power supply line for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Replace the rear display unit.
Repair the wiring harness.
