Inspection Procedure 16: The drive battery level indicator does not work. (the other meters work)




COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


When the drive battery level indicator does not work, the PHEV-ECU system, the combination meter, wiring harness wire(s) or connector(s) may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics


Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2

Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ). Complete the CAN troubleshooting, and then go to Step 5.

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code


Check if diagnosis code is stored in the combination meter.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Troubleshoot the combination meter. Refer to .

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code


Check if diagnosis code is stored in the PHEV-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Troubleshoot the PHEV-ECU. Refer to GROUP 54D - Troubleshooting . Complete the PHEV-ECU troubleshooting, then go to Step 4.

Go to Step 4

STEP 4. M.U.T.-III Special Function


Using M.U.T.-III, select "Test" from the special function of the combination meter. Execute the following item to check the liquid crystal display.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5

Replace the combination meter.

STEP 5. Retest the system


Check whether the drive battery level indicator works correctly.

Q. Does the drive battery level indicator work correctly?

The procedure is complete.

Replace the combination meter.
