caution Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.


PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Auxiliary battery check.


Check whether a 24 V-battery is connected. Perform the basic checks (loose terminals, corrosion and battery test).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2

Charge the auxiliary battery, or replace a defective component. Then go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check of short to earth circuit in SPK+ line between acoustic vehicle alerting speaker ECU connector and acoustic vehicle alerting-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Check the acoustic vehicle alerting speaker.


Measure the resistance value between the acoustic vehicle alerting speaker terminals. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4

Replace the acoustic vehicle alerting speaker.

STEP 4. Check the trouble symptom.


Check that the AVAS works normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Replace the acoustic vehicle alerting-ECU.
