Inspection Procedure 10: When the vehicle speed reaches 38 km/h (speedometer indication: ca. 40 km/h), the buzzer does not cease sounding.
The buzzer does not imitate acceleration and deceleration by sweep-sound effect as the vehicle speed changes.



caution Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.


PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Voltage measurement at acoustic vehicle alerting-ECU connector SPEE terminal.


(1)Measure by backprobing without disconnecting the connector.
(2)Perform a test run of the vehicle.
(3)Check the voltage between the acoustic vehicle alerting-ECU connector SPEE terminal and body earth.
OK: 0 to 12 V (pulse signal)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the acoustic vehicle alerting-ECU.

Go to Step 2

STEP 2. Check of open circuit in SPEE line between acoustic vehicle alerting-ECU connector and combination meter connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3

Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. Retest the system.


Replace the combination meter temporarily, then check if the AVAS operate.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the combination meter.

Replace the acoustic vehicle alerting-ECU.
