Code No. P0562: Battery voltage (low voltage)

caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be stored. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

The PHEV-ECU stores diagnosis code No. P0562 when the auxiliary battery voltage is abnormal.

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • The auxiliary battery is flat.
  • Malfunction of the auxiliary battery
  • Loose auxiliary battery terminal
  • The DC-DC converter output circuit fails.
  • Malfunction of the DC-DC converter
  • Malfunction of the PHEV-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics

Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ). On completion, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored.

Check if the diagnosis code No. P0A09 is stored in the PHEV-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Carry out troubleshooting for the diagnosis code P0A09. (Refer to .)
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Auxiliary battery check

Refer to GROUP 54A <PHEV> - Battery Test . In addition, check the auxiliary battery terminal for looseness.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Charge the auxiliary battery. (Refer to GROUP 54A <PHEV> - Charge .) Or, replace the auxiliary battery. (Refer to GROUP 54A <PHEV> - Battery Removal and Installation .)

STEP 4. M.U.T.-III data list

Check that the following data list display contents are normal. (Refer to ).
Data list
  • Item No.83: Control power supply
OK: Approximately 14V and 12V are displayed alternately when the DC-DC converter is activated and deactivated.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 10.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Check the power supply line for open circuit. (On board charger/DC-DC converter connector and the fusible link).

  • Check the wiring harness between on board charger/DC-DC converter connector terminal No. 1 and the fusible link.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the connector or wiring harness.

STEP 6. Voltage measurement at EV control relay (relay box) connector

(1)Disconnect the EV control relay, and measure the voltage at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3)Measure the voltage between the A-08X EV control relay connector terminal No. 4 and the body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.
Go to Step 7.

STEP 7. Check the power supply line for open circuit. (EV control relay (relay box) connector and the relay box fuse (No. 7)).

  • Check the wiring harness between EV control relay (relay box) connector terminal No. 4 and the relay box fuse (No. 7).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.
Repair the connector or wiring harness.

STEP 8. EV control relay check

Check the EV control relay. (Refer to .)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.
Replace the EV control relay.

STEP 9. Check the power supply line for open circuit. (EV control relay (relay box) connector and the PHEV-ECU connector).

  • Check the wiring harness between EV control relay (relay box) connector terminal No. 4 and the PHEV-ECU (IGCT terminal).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 10.
Repair the connector or wiring harness.

STEP 10. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.

Recheck if the diagnosis code is stored.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Replace the PHEV-ECU (Refer to ). Then go to Step 11.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 11.

Return to Step 1.
The procedure is complete.
