  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be stored. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT



  • Code No. P1B05: The PHEV-ECU stores diagnosis code No. P1B05 when the lowest cell voltage is abnormal while the drive battery is charged.

  • Code No. P1B07: The PHEV-ECU stores diagnosis code No. P1B07 when the total battery voltage is abnormal while the drive battery is charged.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of BMU
  • Malfunction of drive battery
  • Malfunction of quick charger

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics


Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ). On completion, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Recheck if the diagnosis code is stored.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch .
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Go to Step 3.
The procedure is complete.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code


Use M.U.T.-III to check whether the BMU related diagnosis code is stored. (Refer to ).

Q. Is any diagnosis code stored?

Troubleshoot for the relevant diagnosis code.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. M.U.T.-III data list


(1)Check the data list stored in the BMU, and identify which CMU is affected. (Refer to .)
note Charge the battery prior to this check.

OK: 2.1 - 4.6 V

  • Item No.6: Maximum voltage cell ID
OK: 1 - 88

  • Item No.3: Battery cell maximum voltage
OK: 2.1 - 4.6 V

  • Item No.4: Maximum voltage cell ID
OK: 1 - 88
(2)Check the data list which is related to the affected CMU. (Refer to .)
note The CMU-related data list contains a fault history. After you check the data list, execute "Reset item No. 1: abnormal information in EEPROM". (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to reset failure information in the CMU EEPROM <PHEV> .)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Replace the relevant cell. Then go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Recheck if the diagnosis code is stored.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Return to Step 1.
The procedure is complete.
