Code No.C2205: Steering angle sensor internal error

caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be stored. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
  • Whenever the steering wheel sensor is replaced, always calibrate the sensor.(Refer to GROUP 35C- Steering wheel calibration ). Then make the steering wheel sensor learn the compensation which the PHEV-ECU has stored.(Item: Initialisation, Item No. 3: Steering Angle offset reset )

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

The PHEV-ECU stores diagnosis code No. C2205 when an internal error occurs in the steering wheel sensor.

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Malfunction of steering wheel sensor
  • Malfunction of PHEV-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

1.M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics.
2.M.U.T.-III service data (Item No.333: Steering angle, Refer to )

  • If defective, replace the steering wheel sensor (Refer to GROUP 35C - Steering Wheel Sensor ).
3.Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.

  • If the diagnosis code is stored, replace the PHEV-ECU (Refer to ).
