Code No. P199D: Electrical parking switch mismatch



caution Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT


The PHEV-ECU stores this diagnosis code when the main and sub signals of the electrical parking switch do not match.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of electrical parking switch
  • Damaged harness or connector
  • Malfunction of PHEV-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list


Check that the following data list display contents are normal (Refer to ).
Data list
  • Item 25: Shift position P(MAIN)
  • Item 31: Shift position P(SUB)
Check condition
Normal condition
Electrical parking switch: ON
ON
Other than above
OFF

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Electrical parking switch check


Refer to GROUP 22D -Inspection .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Replace the electrical parking switch assembly (Refer to GROUP 22D - Selector Lever Assembly ).

STEP 3. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in the signal line. (Electrical parking switch and PHEV-ECU).


<Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit>
  • Check the wiring harness electrical parking switch connector terminal No.5, 7 and PHEV-ECU (SFTP, SFSP terminals) connector.
<Check of open circuit>
  • Check the wiring harness electrical parking switch connector terminal No.4, 6 and PHEV-ECU (SFTV, SFSV terminals) connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector or wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Recheck if the diagnosis code is stored.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn on the power supply mode of the electric motor switch.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Replace the PHEV-ECU (Refer to ).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
