Code No. P1A1B: Electric motor drive voltage too low




PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Check whether the PHEV-ECU stores diagnosis code(s) other than P1A1B. (Refer to .)

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Diagnose the system according to the stored diagnosis code.

Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the battery level gauge.


Observe the battery energy level gauge in the combination meter to check whether the battery energy level is too low.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Service data check


Check the following service data stored in the BMU. (Refer to .)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Replace the drive battery. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 5.

STEP 4. Erase the diagnosis code, and then check whether the symptom occurs again.


Check whether the FEMCU stores a diagnosis code again.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(3)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(4)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(5)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(6)Drive the vehicle.
(7)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Replace the power drive unit. (Refer to .)

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

STEP 5. Erase the diagnosis code, and then check whether the symptom occurs again.


Check whether the FEMCU stores a diagnosis code again.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(3)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(4)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(5)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(6)Drive the vehicle.
(7)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Replace the power drive unit. (Refer to .)

Return to Step 1.
