Code No. P104C: AD module fails




PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Check if diagnosis code No. P104B is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Diagnose the system according to the stored diagnosis code.

Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Measure the voltage at the power drive unit connector.


(1)Disconnect the power drive unit connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the electric motor switch to the ON position.
(3)Measure the voltage between the power drive unit connector power supply terminal and body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the power drive unit. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 8.

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Fuse check


Check whether the following fuse in the sub-fuse box is blown.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness wire between the fuse and the power drive unit connector for short to earth.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the fuse. Then go to Step 8.

Repair the harness or connector. Then go to Step 8.

STEP 5. IGCT relay check


Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.

Replace the IGCT relay. Then go to Step 8.

STEP 6. Check the wiring harness wire between the fuse and the power drive unit connector for open circuit.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Repair the harness or connector. Then go to Step 8.

STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Check whether the generator control unit stores a diagnosis code again.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(3)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(4)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Replace the power drive unit. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 8.

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

STEP 8. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Check whether the generator control unit stores a diagnosis code again.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(3)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(4)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Return to Step 1.

This diagnosis is complete.
