PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the CAN bus line.

STEP 2. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.


Check whether the PHEV-ECU stores a diagnosis code.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Diagnose the system according to the stored diagnosis code.

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.


Check whether the other ECUs store diagnosis code No. U1191.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Diagnose the system according to the stored diagnosis code.

Replace the Power Drive Unit. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.


(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Check if diagnosis code No. U1191 is stored again.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Replace the Power Drive Unit. (Refer to .)

Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Check again if the diagnosis code is stored in the FEMCU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(3)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(4)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(5)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Replace the Power Drive Unit. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 6.

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

STEP 6. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Check again if the diagnosis code is stored in the FEMCU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(3)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(4)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(5)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Return to Step 1.

This diagnosis is complete.
