Code No. P0C7A: Electric motor drive voltage rises abnormally (HW detection)

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the CAN bus line.

STEP 2. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.

Check whether the PHEV-ECU stores a diagnosis code.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Diagnose the system according to the stored diagnosis code.

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the high-voltage terminal.

danger Carry out the check on the high-voltage circuit while reading carefully the precautions on handling a high-voltage vehicle. (Refer to .)
danger Wear the specified protection equipment during the check.
(1)Shut down the high voltage. (Refer to .)
(2)Check that the following cable is tightened to the specified torque.

  • Rear motor cable connection (Refer to , .)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Tighten the rear motor cable to the specified torque. (Refer to , .) Then go to Step 6.

STEP 4. Drive battery check

Carry out the following check.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Repair the damaged bus bar. Then go to Step 6.

STEP 5. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is stored in the REMCU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(3)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(4)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(5)Drive the vehicle.
(6)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Replace the REMCU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 6.

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

STEP 6.

Return to Step 1.

This diagnosis is complete.
