PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the CAN bus line.

STEP 2. Check the power drive unit connector and the front motor connector.


Visually check them for damage or water ingress.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Replace the connector.

STEP 3. Check the resistance in the resolver.


(1)Disconnect the power drive unit and the front motor connectors.
(2)Measure the resistance between the front motor connector terminals.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Go to Step 5.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness wires between the power drive unit connector and the front motor connector for short to earth or open circuit.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Replace the harness. Then go to Step 6.

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Check again if the diagnosis code is stored in the FEMCU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(3)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(4)Drive the vehicle.
(5)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Replace the front motor. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 6.

Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions .)

STEP 6. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Check again if the diagnosis code is stored in the FEMCU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: OFF
(3)Power supply mode of electric motor switch: ON
(4)Drive the vehicle.
(5)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is diagnosis code stored?

Return to Step 1.

This diagnosis is complete.
