TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

Check Conditions
  • The power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON, or the drive battery starts to be charged.
  • The following diagnosis code is not stored.

  1. P1AA8: Local CAN (for drive battery) signal time-out
Judgement Criterion
  • The abnormal module temperature is detected.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION

  • Not available

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • The module (battery cell, CMU and module temperature sensor) in the drive battery is failed.
  • The BMU is failed.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.

  • Before checking the diagnosis code again, keep the status with the power supply mode of electric motor switch is OFF for more than 1 minute.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Go to Step 2.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III data list.

  • Check the CMU having an abnormality.
  • CMU Data List Reference Table (Refer to .)

  1. Item 22: Cell monitor IC 1
  2. Item 23: Cell monitor IC 2
  3. Item 24: Cell monitor IC 3
  4. Item 25: Cell monitor IC 4
  5. Item 26: Cell monitor IC 5
  6. Item 27: Cell monitor IC 6
  7. Item 28: Voltage sensor
  8. Item 29: Microcomputer reference voltage
  9. Item 30: IC reference voltage
  10. Item 79: EEPROM Fail (numbering data read
  11. Item 80: EEPROM Fail (learning data read)
  12. Item 81: CAN controller
  13. Item 88: A/D conversion (reference voltage)
  14. Item 89: A/D conversion (temperature sensor 1)
  15. Item 90: A/D conversion (temperature sensor 2)
  16. Item 91: A/D conversion (temperature sensor 3)
  17. Item 92: A/D conversion (temperature sensor 4)
  18. Item 93: A/D conversion (temperature sensor 5)
  19. Item 95: A/D conversion (module voltage)
  20. Item 98: Bat-CAN (bus off)

Q. Are the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Remove the battery tray cover (Refer to ). Replace the CMU where the CMU ID is not numbered. Then, assemble the drive battery assembly (Refer to ).

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.

  • Reset the information about the malfunction of the CMU where the CMU ID is not numbered. (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service - CMU EEPROM Failure Information Reset ).

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Replace the BMU.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
