Code No. P1AAC: Drive Battery Current Sensor Signal Time-out




TROUBLE JUDGEMENT


Check Conditions
  • The power supply mode of the electric motor switch is ON, or the drive battery starts to be charged.
Judgement Criterion
  • The signal sent by the drive battery current sensor through the CAN cannot be received.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION



  • Not available

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Harness and connector is failed.
  • The drive battery current sensor is failed.
  • The BMU is failed.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code


Q. Is any other diagnosis code than P1AAC stored?

Inspection chart for diagnosis codes (Refer to ).
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Perform voltage measurement at drive battery connector


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Operate the electric motor switch without depressing the brake pedal and turn ON the power supply mode of electric motor switch.
(3)Check the voltage between the drive battery connector (drive battery current sensor IGCT line) and body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair drive battery current sensor IGCT line between IGCT control relay connector and drive battery connector.

STEP 3. Perform resistance measurement at drive battery connector


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Check the resistance between the drive battery connector (drive battery current sensor GND line) and body earth.
OK: Continuity (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

    Repair drive battery current sensor GND line between drive battery connector and body earth.

STEP 4. Check of damage in IGCT line between IGCT control relay connector and drive battery connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Check of short to earth, open circuit and damage in CNBL line and CNBH line between BMU connector and drive battery connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Remove the battery tray cover (Refer to ). Then, go to Step 6.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 6. Check of short to earth, open circuit and damage in CNBL line and CNBH line between drive battery connector and drive battery current sensor connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the drive battery current sensor. Then, assemble the drive battery assembly (Refer to ).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then, assemble the drive battery assembly (Refer to ).
