DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics


Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines. (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting .)

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code for other systems


Check if any diagnosis code(s) other than that related to the A/C compressor is stored.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Diagnose the system according to the stored diagnosis code.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code for other systems


Check whether the PHEV-ECU has stored a diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Diagnose the system according to the stored diagnosis code.(Refer to GROUP 54D - Diagnosis Code Chart .)
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.


Recheck if the diagnosis code is stored.

  1. Erase the stored diagnosis code.
  2. Power supply mode of the electric motor switch: OFF → ON
  3. Check the diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

A poor connection, open circuit or other intermittent malfunction is present in the CAN bus line between the EV-ECU and A/C control unit. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction .)
The procedure is complete.
