Code No. B102A: Battery cooling air thermo sensor system (short circuit)
Code No. B102B: Battery cooling air thermo sensor system (open circuit)

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

These codes are stored when short to earth (code No. B102A) or open circuit (code No. B102B) is detected in the battery cooling air thermo sensor circuit.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list

Check that the following service data display contents are normal.

  • Item 172: Drive battery fin thermo sensor

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check of open and short circuit in RRAT - the line between the drive battery cooling unit(incorporating the drive battery fin thermo sensor) and the heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU) connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code (BMU-ECU)

Check whether the module temperature sensor-related diagnosis code is stored in the BMU-ECU (battery management unit).

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Follow the diagnosis code procedures for the BMU-ECU (battery management unit) and the drive battery (Refer to GROUP 54D - Diagnosis code chart ).
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is stored again.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 12: Refer to "Heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU) power supply system " .
Intermittent malfunction. Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions .)
