Code No. P0605: Read Only Memory (FLASH ROM) Malfunction


FUNCTION



  • The engine-ECU reads information from flash ROM.
  • The engine-ECU detects checksum errors.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT


Check Condition
  • Ignition switch is in "ON" position.
Judgment Criterion
  • In each inspection target area of a flash ROM, a checksum mismatch is detected three times consecutively.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION



  • The rail pressure is controlled in the range between 50 and 100 MPa.
  • The fuel injection amount is restricted (Output restriction).
  • The open angle of the accelerator pedal is restricted.
  • The throttle valve is closed (Fixed opening degree).
  • The EGR control is stopped (fully closed).
  • The DPF regeneration is prohibited.
  • The AS&G control is prohibited.

PROBABLE CAUSE



  • Failed engine-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

  • After erasing the diagnosis code through M.U.T.-III, ignition switch is "ON" position and confirm whether the diagnosis code is output.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the engine-ECU.
