  • When a short to earth occurs in the wiring harness between the electrical steering lock and KOS-ECU, KOS-ECU sets the diagnosis code No.B241A.
B241B
  • When an open circuit or short to power supply occurs in the wiring harness between the electrical steering lock and KOS-ECU, KOS-ECU sets the diagnosis code No.B241B.

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA


B241A
  • When a short to earth occurs in the wiring harness, KOS-ECU determines that a problem has occurred.
B241B
  • When an open circuit or short to power supply occurs in the wiring harness, KOS-ECU determines that a problem has occurred.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of the electronic steering lock
  • Malfunction of the KOS-ECU
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Connector check: C-311 electronic steering lock connector, C-08 KOS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 2. Check the wiring harness between the C-311 electronic steering lock connector terminal No. 3 and the C-08 KOS-ECU connector terminal No. 23, between the C-14 OSS-ECU connector terminal No. 21 and the C-08 KOS-ECU connector terminal No. 23.



  • Check the wiring harness for short circuit and open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 3. Voltage measurement at C-311 electronic steering lock connector


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure the voltage at the wiring harness-side connector.
(2)Open the driver's door.
(3)Measure the voltage at the C-311 electronic steering lock connector terminal No. 3 and the body earth.
(4)OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
