INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1: Electric-folding door mirrors do not work at all.

caution Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.

OPERATION

The ETACS-ECU operates this function in accordance with the input signals below.

  • Ignition switch (ACC)
  • Electric remote controlled mirror switch (folding/unfolding switch)

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

If the system does not work, the input circuit from the ignition switch (ACC) or the remote controlled mirror switch (folding/unfolding switch), or the ETACS-ECU may be faulty.

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Defective remote controlled mirror switch
  • Defective ignition switch (ACC)
  • Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

Check if an ETACS-related diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Troubleshoot the ETACS. Refer to .
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III data list

Check the input signals which are related to the electric folding door mirrors.
