Code No.B16A2 Blown turn-signal lamp (LH) bulb

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA

  • With the diagnosis code not set, if there is a malfunction to the left turn-signal lamp bulb, the blown left bulb counter counts once when the illumination of hazard or turn-signal lamp (left side) is attempted.
  • If the blown left bulb counter reaches "3," diagnosis code No. B16A2 is set.

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Malfunction of turn-signal lamp bulb (left)
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Bulb check

Q. Is the check result normal?

STEP 2. Connector check: A-43 headlamp assembly (LH) connector, A-13 side turn-signal lamp (LH) <fender panel type> connector, F-01 door mirror assembly (LH) <door mirror type> and D-19 rear combination lamp (LH) connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

STEP 3. Resistance measurement at the A-43 headlamp assembly (LH) connector, A-13 side turn-signal lamp (LH) <fender panel type> connector, F-01 door mirror assembly (LH) <door mirror type> and D-19 rear combination lamp (LH) connector

(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the connector terminal of lamp which does not illuminate and the body earth.

  • Measure the resistance between the A-43 headlamp assembly (LH) connector terminal No. 4 and the body earth.
  • Measure the resistance between the A-13 side turn-signal lamp (LH) connector terminal No. 1 and the body earth. <fender panel type>
  • Measure the resistance between the F-01 door mirror assembly (LH) connector terminal No. 10 and the body earth. <door mirror type>
  • Measure the resistance between the D-19 rear combination lamp (LH) connector terminal No. 8 and the body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?

STEP 4. Check the following wiring harness.

  • Wiring harness from A-43 headlamp assembly (LH) connector terminal No. 4 to the body earth.
  • Wiring harness from A-13 side turn-signal lamp (LH) connector terminal No. 1 to the body earth. <fender panel type>
  • Wiring harness from F-01 door mirror assembly (LH) connector terminal No. 10 to the body earth. <door mirror type>
  • Wiring harness from D-19 rear combination lamp (LH) connector terminal No. 8 to the body earth.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-15 <fender panel type> or C-224 <door mirror type>, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

STEP 5. Connector check: C-403, C-413 and C-417 ETACS-ECU connectors

Q. Is the check result normal?

STEP 6. Check the following wiring harness.

  • Wiring harness from A-43 headlamp assembly (LH) connector terminal No. 8 to C-403 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 9.
  • Wiring harness from A-13 side turn-signal lamp (LH) connector terminal No. 2 to C-403 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 9. <fender panel type>
  • Wiring harness from F-01 door mirror assembly (LH) connector terminal No. 2 to C-417 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 4. <door mirror type>
  • Wiring harness from D-19 rear combination lamp (LH) connector terminal No. 7 to C-413 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 18.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-225 <door mirror type>, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.

(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
