PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of bulbs
  • Malfunction of position lamp socket or licence plate lamp socket
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Connector check: A-43 <position lamp (LH)> or A-61 <position lamp (RH)> headlamp assembly connector and G-19 (LH) or G-05 (RH) licence plate lamp connector

STEP 3. Resistance measurement at the A-43 <position lamp (LH)> or A-61 <position lamp (RH)> headlamp assembly connector and G-19 (LH) or G-05 (RH) licence plate lamp connector


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the connector of lamp which does not illuminate and the body earth.

  • Measure the resistance between the A-43 (LH), A-61 (RH) headlamp assembly connector terminal No. 4 and the body earth. <Position lamp>
  • Measure the resistance between the G-19 (LH), G-05 (RH) licence plate lamp connector terminal No. 1 and the body earth. <Licence plate lamp>
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

STEP 4. Check the following wiring harness




  • Wiring harness from A-43 headlamp assembly (LH) connector terminal No. 4 to the body earth. <Position lamp (LH)>
  • Wiring harness from A-61 headlamp assembly (RH) connector terminal No. 4 to the body earth. <Position lamp (RH)>
  • Wiring harness from G-19 licence plate lamp (LH) connector terminal No. 1 to the body earth. <licence plate lamp (LH)>
  • Wiring harness from G-05 licence plate lamp (RH) connector terminal No. 1 to the body earth. <licence plate lamp (RH)>
note Before the wiring harness check, check the intermittent connector G-23 <licence plate lamp>, and repair that if necessary.

STEP 5. Connector check: C-403 (position lamp), C-413 (licence plate lamp) ETACS-ECU connector

STEP 6. Check the following wiring harness




  • Wiring harness from A-43 headlamp assembly (LH) connector terminal No. 3 to the C-403 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 3. <Position lamp (LH)>
  • Wiring harness from A-61 headlamp assembly (RH) connector terminal No. 3 to the C-403 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 7. <Position lamp (RH)>
  • Wiring harness from G-19 licence plate lamp (LH) connector terminal No. 2 to the C-413 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 10. <licence plate lamp (LH)>
  • Wiring harness from G-05 licence plate lamp (RH) connector terminal No. 2 to the C-413 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 10. <licence plate lamp (RH)>
note Before the wiring harness check, check the intermittent connector G-23 <licence plate lamp>, and repair that if necessary.
