PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of combination meter
- Malfunction of heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU) <Vehicles without A/C> or
A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU) <Vehicles with A/C>
- Damaged harness wires and connectors

STEP 1. Check that the tail lamps illuminate. |

Diagnose the tail lamps. (Refer to .) |

STEP 2. Check the illumination. |
| When the tail lamps are turned on, check whether the illumination other than the radio
and CD player is turned on. |

Go to Step 3. |

Replace the heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU) <Vehicles without A/C> or
A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU) <Vehicles with A/C>. |

STEP 3. Connector check: C-103 radio and CD player connector, C-237 heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU) connector <vehicles without A/C> or C-216 A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU) connector <vehicles with A/C> |

Repair the connector concerned. |

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between C-103 radio and CD player connector terminal No.29 and C-237 heater controller assembly (A/C-ECU) connector <vehicles without A/C> or C-216 A/C controller assembly (A/C-ECU) connector <vehicles with A/C> terminal No.18. |

| When the tail lamps illuminate, check that the illumination of the radio and CD player
is switched from day mode to night mode. |
