caution Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

  • Malfunction of hood latch switch
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the installation condition.

STEP 2. Connector check: A-49 hood latch switch connector

STEP 4. Resistance measurement at the A-49 hood latch switch connector


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the A-49 hood latch switch connector terminal No. 1 and the body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

STEP 5. Wiring harness check between the A-49 hood latch switch connector terminal No. 1 and the body earth



  • Check the earth wires for open circuit.

STEP 6. Connector check: C-410 ETACS-ECU connector

STEP 7. Wiring harness check between the A-49 hood latch switch connector terminal No. 2 and the C-410 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 12
