caution Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.

JUDGMENT CRITERIA



PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Faulty lighting control sensor
  • Malfunction of the LIN bus

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Connector check: C-416 and C-417 ETACS-ECU connectors, E-08 lighting control sensor connector


Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 2. Resistance measurement at the E-08 lighting control sensor connector


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the E-08 lighting control sensor connector terminal No. 2 and the body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 3. Wiring harness check from E-08 lighting control sensor connector terminal No. 2 to body earth



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 4. Voltage measurement at the E-08 lighting control sensor connector.


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the voltage between the E-08 lighting control sensor connector terminal No. 1 and the body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 5. Wiring harness check between the E-08 lighting control sensor connector terminal No. 1 and the C-417 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 10



note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-226, and joint connector C-102, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 6. Check the wiring harness wires between C-416 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 1 and E-08 lighting control sensor connector terminal No. 3.



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.



(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
