PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Faulty security alarm sensor
  • Malfunction of the LIN bus

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Connector check: C-416 and C-417 ETACS-ECU connectors, E-03 security alarm sensor connector


Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 2. Resistance measurement at the E-03 security alarm sensor connector


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the E-03 security alarm sensor connector terminal No. 3 and the body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 3. Wiring harness check from E-03 security alarm sensor connector terminal No. 3 to body earth



note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector E-02, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 4. Voltage measurement at the E-03 security alarm sensor connector.


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the voltage between the E-03 security alarm sensor connector terminal No. 1 and the body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 5. Wiring harness check between the E-03 security alarm sensor connector terminal No. 1 and the C-417 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 10



note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector E-02, and joint connector C-102, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 6. Check the wiring harness wires between C-416 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 1 and E-03 security alarm sensor connector terminal No. 2.



note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check joint connector E-02, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.



(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
