Inspection Procedure 8: The sound of audio adapter’s input are not played.



caution Whenever the multivision display is replaced, ensure that the power supply circuit and the earthing circuit are normal. (Check that the voltage is 10 V or more.)

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

  • The connected equipment side or the connection from the audio adapter to the equipment may have a problem. Therefore, check that the operation status and the connecting method of the equipment connected to the multivision display and audio adapter before performing the diagnosis.
  • If there is an error with the input from USB adapter, troubleshoot the USB box or hands free-ECU. (Refer to <Vehicles with USB box> or <Vehicles with hands free-ECU>.)

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • The multivision display may be defective
  • The audio adapter may be defective
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check of CD sound


Check that the CD sound is displayed normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2
Perform the troubleshooting related to the MMCS (Refer to ).

STEP 2. Check the audio adapter.


Check the audio adapter. (Refer to )

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3
Replace the audio adapter.

STEP 3. Connector check: C-106 multivision display connector, C-121 audio adapter connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4
Repair the connector concerned.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between C-106 multivision display connector terminal No.1, 2 and C-121 audio adaptor connector terminal No. 6, 4.



  • Check the communication lines for open circuit and short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Temporarily replace the multivision display, and check the trouble symptom.


Check that the sound of audio adapter’s input is normal.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the multivision display.
Replace the audio adapter.
