caution Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of front door switch (RH) <LHD>
  • Malfunction of front door switch (LH) <RHD>
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the installation condition.


Check that the front door switch (passenger’s side) is installed to the body correctly.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Correct the installation condition.

STEP 2. Connector check: C-33 front door switch (RH) <LHD> or C-17 front door switch (LH) <RHD> connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Front door switch (passenger’s side) check


Refer to GROUP 42 - Door .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Replace the front door switch (passenger’s side).

STEP 4. Connector check: B-317 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 5. Wiring harness check between the C-33 front door switch (RH) <LHD> or C-17 front door switch (LH) <RHD> connector (terminal 2) and the B-317 ETACS-ECU connector (terminal 63)


Check the input lines for open circuit and short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the wiring harness.
