Code No. C2011:
Brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2 coil system abnormality (VP)
Code No. C2019:
Brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2 OFF seizure (VP)
BRAKE VACUUM GENERATION SYSTEM CIRCUIT

OPERATION
DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS
- While the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2
is set to OFF, if the low excitation coil monitor voltage level of the brake electric vacuum pump
control relay 2 continues, the diagnosis code No. C2011 will be set.
- With the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2 set to ON by the initial driving,
if the low motor voltage level of the brake electric vacuum pump continues, the diagnosis code
No. C2019 will be set.
- With the brake electric vacuum pump control relays 1, 2 set to ON, if the low motor
voltage level of the brake electric vacuum pump continues, the diagnosis code No. C2019 will
be set.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of the brake electric vacuum pump control
relay 2
- Malfunction of the brake electric vacuum pump relay box
- Damaged wiring harness or connector(s)
- Malfunction of the EV-ECU
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE |
STEP 1. Measure the voltage at A-114X brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2 (brake electric vacuum pump relay box) connector. |
| (1)Remove the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2, and measure the voltage
at the wiring harness side. |
| (2)Turn the electric motor switch to the "ON" position. |
| (3)Measure the voltage between the A-114X brake electric vacuum pump control relay
2 (brake electric vacuum pump relay box) connector terminal No. 3, 5 and the body earth. OK: Battery voltage |
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
Go to Step 3. |
|
Go to Step 2. |
|
STEP 2. Connector check: A-114X brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2 (brake electric vacuum pump relay box) connector |
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
Go to Step 3. |
|
Correct and replace the brake electric vacuum pump relay box. |
|
STEP 3. Brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2 check |
Check the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2. (Refer to GROUP 35A - On-vehicle
Service - Relay Check .) |
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
Go to Step 4. |
|
Replace the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 2. |
|
STEP 4. Connector check: C-106 EV-ECU connector, B-28 intermediate connnector, A-104 brake electric vacuum pump relay box connecter |
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
Go to Step 5. |
|
Repair the damaged connector. Or, correct and replace the brake electric vacuum
pump relay box. |
|
STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between A-104 brake electric vacuum pump relay box connector terminal No. 5, 6 and C-106 EV-ECU connector terminal No. 20, 21. |
| Check the signal lines for open circuit and short to earth. Or, check the fuse in the
brake electric vacuum pump relay box. |
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
Go to Step 6. |
|
Repair the wiring harness. Or, correct and replace the brake electric vacuum pump
relay box. |
|
STEP 6. Diagnosis code recheck |
| Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the EV-ECU. |
| (1)Erase the stored diagnosis code. |
| (2)Set the electric motor switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position. |
| (3)Check if the diagnosis code is set. |
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
|
Replace the EV-ECU. (Refer to .) Then go to
Step 7. |
|
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection
Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction .) |
|
STEP 7.
|
Return to Step 1. |
|
The diagnosis is complete. |
