Code No. P1AFA: Quick charger READY time-out
Code No. P1AFE: Quick charger error
Code No. P1AFF: Quick charger connector lock error
Code No. P1B00: Quick charger battery conformity error



caution If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, always diagnose the CAN bus lines.


OPERATION



  • The quick charger communicates with EV-ECU via the local CAN (for the quick charger).

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS



  • When the quick charger present output voltage of 200 V or less continues for 10 seconds or longer, the diagnosis code No. P1AFA will be set.
  • After the quick contactor is driven, if the quick charger error signal from the quick charger is ON, the diagnosis code No. P1AFE will be set.
  • If the main battery current is 5 A or more and quick charging connection lock signal is OFF, the diagnosis code No. P1AFF will be set.
  • If the quick charger does not compatible with the vehicle main battery, the diagnosis code No. P1B00 will be set.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of quick charger

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis


Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus line. (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting .) Then go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Diagnosis code recheck after resetting CAN bus lines


Check again if the diagnosis code No. P1AFA, No. P1AFE, No. P1AFF or No. P1B00 is set to the EV-ECU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Go to Step 3.
This diagnosis is complete.

STEP 3. Diagnosis code recheck


Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the EV-ECU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Check the quick charger. Then go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Diagnosis code recheck


Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the EV-ECU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Return to Step 1.
The diagnosis is complete.
