DOOR/TAILGATE LOCK

DOOR LOCK

• The central door locking system that locks/unlocks all the doors and tailgate using the driver’s door key cylinder or the inside lock knob has been installed.
  
• The child protection function has been introduced to prevent the rear doors from being opened accidentally during driving.
  
• The key-in prevention function has been introduced.
  
• The selector "P" position-linked door unlocking function has been introduced.
  
• The direct combination key cylinder mechanism has been adopted.
  

CONFIGURATION AND OPERATION DESCRIPTIONS

CENTRAL DOOR LOCKING

• When the driver’s door inside lock knob is operated to the lock position with all doors closed, all the doors and tailgate will be locked.With the driver’s door opened, the driver’s door inside lock knob cannot be operated.(Blocking mechanism) <Driver’s seat only>
  
• The override function has been adopted which allows opening of driver’s door by pulling the driver’s inside handle even when driver’s door inside lock knob is locked.All the doors and tailgate can be unlocked at the same time.

  When the driver’s door is locked (the unlock switch in the driver’s door lock actuator turns OFF, then the lock switch turns ON), ETACS-ECU turns the lock relay output ON for 0.25 seconds to lock all the doors (including the tailgate).Also, when the driver’s door is unlocked (the lock switch in the driver’s door lock actuator turns OFF, then the unlock switch turns ON), ETACS-ECU turns the unlock relay output ON for 0.25 seconds to unlock all the doors (including the tailgate).
  

KEY-IN PREVENTION FUNCTION

SELECTOR "P" POSITION-LINKED DOOR UNLOCKING FUNCTION (DEFAULT SETTING: OFF)

• When the selector lever is shifted to the P (parking) position with the electric motor switch turned ON, all the doors will be unlocked automatically, improving passengers’ convenience for getting out.Using a customisation feature, the selector P position-linked door unlocking function can be switched.(Refer to .)

  When the selector lever is shifted to the P position from any other positions with the electric motor switch turned ON, the inhibitor switch P turns ON, and ETACS-ECU turns the unlock relay output ON for 0.25 seconds to unlock all the doors (including the tailgate).
  

DIRECT COMBINATION KEY CYLINDER MECHANISM

• The structure in which an impact of a side collision is not easily transferred to the door latch with the doors unlocked has been established to facilitate the door opening operation.
  
• Even if any door key cylinder is attempted to be tampered with the doors locked, the tampering force is not easily transferred to the door latch to deter thieves.
