The EGR valve position sensor, which is mounted on the EGR valve, converts the position
of the EGR valve into the electrical signals and inputs it into the engine-ECU. Based on the voltage that is output by this sensor, the engine-ECU effects the EGR valve
feedback control.

The diagram describes the characteristics of this sensor.

The EGR valve is located in the middle of the bypass that recirculates the exhaust gas
from the exhaust manifold into the intake manifold. It is a type of DC motor that controls the
opening and closing of the valve in accordance with the changes in the direction of the electrical
current.
