Code No. P2229: Barometric Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input
FUNCTION
- The barometric pressure sensor converts the barometric
pressure into a voltage signal and inputs the signal to the engine-ECU.
- In response to the signal, the engine-ECU corrects the fuel injection amount, etc.
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Conditions
- More than 2 seconds have passed since the engine starting sequence was completed.
- Battery positive voltage is more than 8 V.
- Barometric pressure sensor output signal is more than 113 kPa (approximately 1,200
m below sea level) for 10 seconds.
FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
- Control as if the barometric pressure is 101 kPa.
PROBABLE CAUSE
- Failed barometric pressure sensor
