Code No.C1613: AWC Switch System (ON Sticking)




















caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
  • Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

OPERATION



  • AWC-ECU controls the driving mode by the information from AWC switch.
  • AWC-ECU sends ACD control mode to the combination meter via ETACS-ECU.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS




PROBABLE CAUSES



  • AWC switch malfunction
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of AWC-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics.


Use M.U.T.-III to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus lines. (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ). After repairing the CAN bus line, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1613 set?

Go to Step 3.
This diagnosis is complete.

STEP 3. J/C (3) <LHD>, J/C (1) <RHD>, Intermediate connector, AWC-ECU connector, AWC switch connector check: C-02 <LHD>, C-39 <RHD>, C-28, C-44, C-42


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the defective connector. Then go to Step 8.

STEP 4. Wiring harness check between C-44 AWC-ECU connector terminal No.21 and C-42 AWC switch connector terminal No.1.


Check the output line for short (for short to the power supply) circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the wiring harness. Then go to Step 8.

STEP 5. M.U.T.-III data list.


Item No.89: AWC switch (Refer to data list reference table ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Go to Step 6.

STEP 6. AWC switch check.


Check the AWC switch. (Refer to ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Replace the AWC switch. (Refer to ). Then go to Step 8.

STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1613 set?

Replace the AWC-ECU. (Refer to ). Then go to Step 8.
Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 8. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1613 set?

Return to Step 1.
This diagnosis is complete.
