REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION


caution
  • Do not disassemble or throw the tailgate gas spring into the fire.
  • Before disposal, make a hole to remove the gas.
  • Make sure that the piston rod should not collect any foreign particles.
Pre-removal operation
  • Tailgate spoiler assembly removal <Vehicles with rear spoiler> (Refer to GROUP 51 - Tailgate Spoiler .)
  • Tailgate trim upper, tailgate trim side, tailgate trim lower removal (Refer to GROUP 52A - Tailgate Trim .)
  • Rear wiper motor and rear washer hose removal (Refer to GROUP 51 - Rear Wiper and Washer .)

 Post-installation operation

REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS

<<A>> REAR FLOOR WIRING HARNESS AND REAR WASHER HOSE REMOVAL

1.Cut the tape that is wrapped around the rear floor wiring harness, rear washer hose and clip with a knife or a similar tool. Then, remove the rear floor wiring harness and rear washer hose.
2.Remove the rear floor wiring harness and rear washer hose from the tailgate.

<<B>> TAILGATE GAS SPRING CONNECTION REMOVAL

As shown in the figure, slide the pin and remove the tailgate gas spring assembly from the ball joint in the direction of the arrow.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

>>A<< TAILGATE OPENING WEATHERSTRIP INSTALLATION

The marking on the tailgate opening weatherstrip should be positioned at the centre of the body.

>>B<< TAILGATE GAS SPRING ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Install the mounting bolts of tailgate gas spring assembly in the order shown in the illustration.

Install the mounting bolts of tailgate damper in the order shown in the illustration.
