INSPECTION PROCEDURE 7: None of the Heated Door Mirrors Operate












COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
The heated door mirrors should work when the rear defogger switch is turned on. If the mirror heater does not work for the specified period, the defogger relay circuit (heated door mirror power supply circuit) may be defective.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Connector check: C-306 rear window defogger connector

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the damaged connector.

Step 2. Check the rear window defogger.
Check that the rear window defogger system works normally. (Refer to GROUP 54A, Printed heater check .)

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Carry out the troubleshooting for the rear window defogger. (Refer to GROUP 55A, Troubleshooting .)

Step 3. Check the C-02 joint connector (3) connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between C-306 rear window defogger connector terminal No. 3 and C-02 joint connector (3) connector terminal No. 24.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check C-38 intermediate connector <RHD>, and repair it if necessary.

  • Check the input and output lines for open or short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Repair the defective connector.
