PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of the AFS-ECU
  • Trouble in bending lamp circuit
  • Malfunction of the bending lamp bulb
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check that the headlamps operate.



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 2. Bulb check



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 3. Connector check: A-35 (LH), A-53 (RH) headlamp assembly connector and A-28X headlamp (LO) relay connector


Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 4. Wiring harness check between the A-28X headlamp (LO) relay connector terminal No. 3 and the A-35 (LH), A-53 (RH) headlamp assembly connector terminal No. 7.



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 5. Connector check: C-12 AFS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 6. Wiring harness check between the C-12 AFS-ECU connector terminal No. 4 (LH) or 3 (RH) and the A-35 (LH), A-53 (RH) headlamp assembly connector terminal No. 8.



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.



(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.
