  • Malfunction of the AFS control switch
  • Malfunction of the AFS-ECU
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list



    Press the AFS control switch.

STEP 2. Connector check: C-132 AFS control switch connector


Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 3. Check the AFS control switch.



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 4. Connector check: C-12 AFS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 5. Wiring harness check from C-132 AFS control switch connector terminal No. 3 to C-12 AFS-ECU connector terminal No. 7.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-128, and repair if necessary.

STEP 6. Wiring harnesses check between the C-132 and the body earth



  • Check the earth wires for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.



(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.
