- Malfunction of the connector [joint connector (CAN3) or AFS-ECU connector improperly connected]
- Malfunction of the wiring harness [open circuit between the AFS-ECU and the joint connector (CAN3), power supply circuit to the AFS-ECU]
- Malfunction of the AFS-ECU

STEP 1. Connector check: C-12 AFS-ECU connector and C-124 joint connector (CAN3) |

Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2. |

Repair the defective connector. |

STEP 2. Check the wiring harness between C-12 AFS-ECU connector and C-124 joint connector (CAN3) |
|
| Disconnect AFS-ECU connector and joint connector (CAN3), and check the following wiring harness for open circuit. |
| (1)The wiring harness between C-12 AFS-ECU connector terminal No.10 and C-124 joint connector (CAN3) terminal No.8 <except for 2000-Diesel> or 7 <2000-Diesel> <CAN_H> OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less) |
| (2)The wiring harness between C-12 AFS-ECU connector terminal No.9 and C-124 joint connector (CAN3) terminal No.21 <except for 2000-Diesel> or 20 <2000-Diesel> <CAN_L> OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less) |
