Code No. P0488: Intake Air Control Flap Status Line


note When the engine-ECU is replaced with the new one, DTC P0488 is stored when the ignition switch is firstly turned to ON position. This is not, however, caused by a malfunction. When the ignition switch is firstly turned to ON position after the engine-ECU replaced, erase DTC P0488.

Check Condition
  • Ignition switch: ON
Judgment Criterion
  • After the ignition switch is turned to ON from OFF, the status line at the beginning is "HIGH" or too long at "LOW".

FAIL SAFE FUNCTION



  • Intake air control flap control is prohibited.

PROBABLE CAUSE



  • Failed intake air control flap
  • Failed electrical harness in intake air control flap circuit
