Code No. P265B: Abnormal Hall Sensor Implanted Into Valve Lift Control Motor
Operation
- A power voltage of 5 V is applied to the valve lift control
motor connector terminal from the valve lift ECU connector terminal HS5V.
- The power voltage is earthed to the valve lift ECU connector terminal HSE from the
valve lift control motor connector terminal.
- The sensor signal is inputted to the valve lift ECU connector terminal HSWS, HSVS
and HSUS from the valve lift control motor-integrated Hall sensor output terminal.
FUNCTION
- The valve lift ECU uses the valve lift control motor-integrated
Hall sensor signal to detect motor rotation angle.
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Condition
- Engine starting sequence was completed.
- The valve lift ECU has determined that the system communicates with the engine-ECU
via VLC-CAN normally.
- The engine-ECU has received malfunction from the valve lift ECU via VLC-CAN.
- Contents of malfunction which the valve lift ECU detects
- The system has detected an abnormal output pattern
(all High or Low) in the U, V and W-phase position sensor signals.
FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
- Deenergises the valve lift control motor.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Open/short circuit or harness damage in valve
lift control motor-integrated Hall sensor circuit or loose connector contact
- Failed valve lift control motor (hall sensor)
- Failed valve lift ECU
