Code No. P2118: Throttle Valve Control DC Motor Current Malfunction
OPERATION
- Current supplied from the engine-ECU connector terminal ETV- and ETV+ to the throttle valve control servo connector terminal is adjusted.
FUNCTION
- The throttle valve control servo drive IC in the engine-ECU monitors current flowing in the throttle control servo and cuts energisation if it detects overcurrent.
TROUBLE JUDGMENT
Check Condition
- Ignition switch is in "ON" position.
- An overcurrent cut-off signal from the throttle valve control servo drive integrated circuit (IC) is repeatedly detected.
FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
- The throttle valve is opened (Electrical discontinuity).
- The EGR control is stopped (fully closed).
- The DPF regeneration is prohibited.
- The AS&G control is prohibited.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Failed throttle valve control servo
- Short circuit in throttle valve control servo circuit or loose connector contact
- Failed engine-ECU
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE |
STEP 1. Check throttle valve control servo itself |
