Code No. P0712: A/T Fluid Temperature Sensor System (Short Circuit)




DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS




PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of the A/T fluid temperature sensor system (Short circuit) circuit
  • Malfunction of the A/T fluid temperature sensor
  • Malfunction of the A/T-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the A/T-ECU terminal voltage.


[A/T-ECU connector (harness side, connected)]
Turn ON the ignition switch, and check the voltage between O/TS terminal and O/T- terminal.

  • A/T fluid 20°C: Approx. 2.52 V
  • A/T fluid 80°C: Approx. 0.69 V

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the A/T fluid temperature sensor.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Replace the valve body assembly.

STEP 3. Check for short to earth in O/TS, O/T- line between the A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector and A/T-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check for open circuit and short to earth in VIG1, VIG2 line between the fusible link and the CVT-ECU connector, and check for open circuit in GND1, GND2 line between the CVT-ECU connector and body earth.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Check the A/T-ECU connector pin terminal and the connection status.


Q. Is there a failure point?

Repair or replace the failure section.
Replace the A/T-ECU.

STEP 6. Erase the diagnosis code, and drive the vehicle for a while.


Check that the normal code is displayed.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The procedure is complete.
Replace the A/T-ECU.
