JUDGMENT CRITERIA




PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of key reminder switch (open circuit of immobilizer antenna)
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors
  • Malfunction of receiver antenna
  • Malfunction of ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list




  • Turn the ignition switch to the OFF (key inserted) position.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 2. Resistance measurement at the receiver antenna connector (ANTP, ANTG line).


(1)Disconnect the connector and measure the resistance at the wiring harness side.
(2)Insert the ignition key into ignition switch.
(3)Measure the resistance between the receiver antenna connector (ANTP, ANTG line) and the body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (12 Ω or less)

STEP 3. Check of short to power supply, short to earth, and open circuit in ANTP, ANTG line between receiver antenna connector and key reminder switch connector .

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Register the ignition key which is used when detect the diagnosis code.
(3)Remove the ignition key from the cylinder and then insert the ignition key again.
(4)After 2 or 3 seconds later from inserting the key, then turn the ignition ON.
(5)Check if the diagnosis code is set?

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?





STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.



(1)Register the ignition key which is used when detect the diagnosis code.
(2)Remove the ignition key from the cylinder and then insert the ignition key again.
(3)After 2 or 3 seconds later from inserting the key, then turn the ignition ON.
(4)Check if the diagnosis code is set?
