Check whether the ASTC system diagnosis codes are set or not. |

YES : Diagnose the ASTC system (Refer to GROUP 35C - Troubleshooting ). |

STEP 3. Check the rear differential lock system air leakage |

Repair or replace the hose (Refer to GROUP 27 - Rear Differential Lock ). |

Replace the rear differential lock air pump (Refer to GROUP 27 - Rear

STEP 6. Measure the voltage at rear differential lock detection switch connector E-116-1 <M/T> or E-116 <A/T>. |
(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure the voltage between terminal No.1 and earth
at the wiring harness side. |
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. OK: System voltage |

Is the check result normal?

STEP 7. Measure the voltage at transfer-ECU connector D-123. |
(1)Disconnect rear differential lock switch connector E-116. |
(2)Measure the voltage between transfer-ECU connector D-123 terminal No.50 and earth
at the ECU side. |
(3)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. OK: System voltage |

STEP 8. Connector check: D-34 J/C (4), E-116 intermediate connector <M/T>, E-116-1 rear differential lock detection switch connector <M/T>, E-116 rear differential lock detection switch connector <A/T>, D-219, D-228, E-120 intermediate connector, D-123 transfer-ECU connector. |
Check for the contact with terminals. |
Q.
Is the check result normal?

Repair the defective connector. |

STEP 9. Check the harness between rear differential lock detection switch connector E-116-1 terminal No.1 <M/T> or check the harness between rear differential lock detection switch connector E-116 terminal No.1 and transfer-ECU connector D-123 terminal No.50 <A/T>. |
Check the output line for short circuit. |

Check for the contact with terminals. |

STEP 11. Check the harness between rear differential lock detection switch connector E-116-1 terminal No.1 <M/T> or check the harness between rear differential lock detection switch connector E-116 terminal No.1 and transfer-ECU connector D-123 terminal No.50 <A/T>. |
Check the output line for open circuit. |

Repair the wiring harness. |

STEP 12. Measure the resistance at rear differential lock detection switch connector E-116-1 <M/T> or E-116 <A/T>. |
Disconnect the connector, and measure the resistance between terminal No.2 and earth at
the wiring harness side. |
OK: Continuity (2 Ω or less) |
