DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list



  • Item 28: Upshift switch
  • Item 29: Downshift switch
Check the above data list (Refer to data list reference table ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 14.
NO "NG" for item 28 : Go to Step 2.
NO "NG" for item 29 : Go to Step 8.

STEP 2. Connector check: D-119 shift switch assembly connector


Check for the contact with terminals.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Check the shift switch assembly.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Replace the selector lever assembly.

STEP 4. Connector check: D-139 A/T-ECU connector


Check for the contact with terminals.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 5. Measure the voltage at A/T-ECU connector D-139


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure the voltage between terminal 36 and earth at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(3)Selector lever position: Upshift and hold the selector lever.
OK: System voltage
(4)Selector lever position: Other than above.
OK: 1 V or less

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 14.
Go to Step 6.

STEP 6. Connectors check: D-225 intermediate connector


Check for the contact with terminals.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 7. Check the harness between shift switch assembly connector D-119 terminal No.2 and A/T-ECU connector D-139 terminal No.36.


Check the output line for short circuit (short to power supply).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 14.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 8. Connector check: D-119 shift switch assembly connector


Check for the contact with terminals.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 9. Check the shift switch assembly.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 10.
Replace the selector lever assembly.

STEP 10. Connector check: D-139 A/T-ECU connector


Check for the contact with terminals.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 11.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 11. Measure the voltage at A/T-ECU connector D-139


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure the voltage between terminal 56 and earth at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(3)Selector lever position: Downshift and hold the selector lever.
OK: System voltage
(4)Selector lever position: Other than above.
OK: 1 V or less

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 14.
Go to Step 12.

STEP 12. Connectors check: D-139 A/T-ECU connector, D-225 intermediate connector


Check for the contact with terminals.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 13.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 13. Check the harness between shift switch assembly connector D-119 terminal No.1 and A/T-ECU connector D-139 terminal No.56.


Check the output line for short circuit (short to power supply).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 14.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 14. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


Check again if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.P0828 set?

Replace the A/T-ECU.
