SENSORS AND ACTUATORS

Item
Function
Sensor
Input shaft speed sensor
The input speed sensor detects the rotation speed of the direct and reverse disk clutch case, and sends it as signal to the A/T -ECU.
Output shaft speed sensor
The output speed sensor detects the rotation speed of the parking lock gear, and sends it as signal to the A/T -ECU.
A/T fluid temperature sensor
The fluid temperature sensor, integrated with the T/M wire, is installed directly to the valve body. The fluid temperature sensor for oil pressure control at the time of shifting is installed to the inside of the valve body.
Inhibitor switch
The inhibitor switch sends information of the present A/T shift range to the A/T-ECU using a combination of terminals in the position circuit, and the functions below are available.

  • The engine can be started at the P or N range only.
  • The function is used for the shift control signal.
Actuator
Shift solenoid No.1 (S1) and No.2 (S2)
The shift solenoid No.1 and No.2 are installed directly to the A/T valve body. It turns ON/OFF according to the control signal from the A/T-ECU, and changes the shift valve position with No.1 and No.2 to shift ranges from the 1st to 5th gear.
Shift solenoid SR (SR)
The shift solenoid SR is installed directly to the A/T valve body. It turns ON/OFF according to the control signal from the A/T-ECU, and switches the C1 clutch.
Line pressure control solenoid (SLT)
According to the control signal from the A/T-ECU, it linearly regulates the throttle pressure, and controls the pressure applied to the clutch and brake for regulating line pressure and reducing shift shock.
Lock-up solenoid (SLU)
According to the control signal from the A/T-ECU, it regulates the pressure of the lock-up clutch inside the converter. (Lock-up is activated when SLU turns ON.)
Linear solenoid No.1 (SL1) and No.2 (SL2) for clutch engagement oil pressure control
According to the control signal from the A/T-ECU, it linearly regulates the C1 clutch and B1 brake pressures, and directly controls the pressures applied to the C1 clutch and B1 brake at the time of shifting from the 4th to 5th gear.
