Code No. P2228: Barometric Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Input


FUNCTION



  • The barometric pressure sensor converts the barometric pressure into a voltage signal and inputs the signal to the engine-A/T-ECU.
  • In response to the signal, the engine-A/T-ECU corrects the fuel injection amount, etc.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT


Check Conditions
  • 2 seconds later from when after the engine starts.
  • Battery voltage is more than 8 V.
Judgment Criterion
  • The barometric pressure sensor output voltage is less than 0.2 V (Barometric pressure is less than 5 kPa or equivalent) for 4 seconds.

PROBABLE CAUSE



  • Failed barometric pressure sensor

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

  • Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the engine-A/T-ECU.
